Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of Camelliasinensis on insulin resistance.METHODS The type 2 diabetic rats were induced by the intravenous injection of Streptozotocin(30mg·kg-1) and high caloric diet. The animals were treated with camelliasinensis, metformin for 10 weeks respectively. The body weight, fasting blood glucose, serum insulin level, insulin sensitivity index(ISI) and blood lipids were determined.RESULTS It was demonstrated that the body weight, blood lipids in model group were higher than those of the normal contrl group and ISI lower.Compared with model group, the body weight, blood lipids in both camelliasinensis and metformin groups were decreased, while ISI raised.CONCLUSION It is suggested that Camelliasinensis has the effects of raising insulin sensitivity and reducing blood lipids.
