Abstract
In order to establish the breeding and hybridization production system to adapt to the Xinjiang scale sheep farm, improve the production performance of local sheep breed and utilization rate of ram. The hybridization experiment were done by Suffolk sheep crossing Hu sheep in farm. Suffolk×Hu F1 lambs were as the trial group, Hu F1 lambs were as the control group, which had the same age. The growth indicators, such as birth weight, 2-months old body weight, 4-months old body weight, 6-months old body weight and body size, were measured. The slaughter performance indicators, such as body weight, carcass weight, meat weight,slaughter percentage rate and meat percentage rate, were also measured. The results show, under the same raising conditions, 2-months old body weight, 4-months old body weight, 6-months old body weight and average daily gain of Suffolk×Hu F1 lambs were significantly higher than Hu F1 lambs(P0.05). The average body weight, carcass weight, meat weight, slaughter percentage rate and meat percentage rate of Suffolk×Hu F1 lambs were significantly higher than Hu F1 lambs in 6-months old(P0.05). It was showed that hybridization can significantly improve meat performance, growth and development of Hu lambs by Suffolk sheep in Xinjiang scale sheep farm.
