Abstract

Objective To study the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and pituitary tumor-transforming gene 1(PTTG-1) in thyroid neoplasm and the relationship among PCNA,PTTG-1 and pathological changes. Methods The expression of PCNA and PTTG-1 were dectected by immunohistochemistry in 87 cases(thyroid papillary carcinoma was 38,thyroid follicular carcinoma was 21,thyroid undifferentiated carcinoma was 5,thyroid adenoma was 23).The differences of PCNA and PTTG-1 in all kinds of neoplastic tissue were analyzed, and the associativity of PCNA and PTTG-1 was observed. Results The protein of PCNA and PTTG-1 were expressed in all thyroid neoplasm. The expression of PCNA in thyroid papillary carcinoma, thyroid follicular carcinoma and thyroid undifferentiated carcinoma were higher than thyroid adenoma(P0.05,P0.01),the expression of PTTG-1 in thyroid papillary carcinoma and thyroid follicular carcinoma were higher than thyroid adenoma(P0.01).There was positive associativity between the expression of PCNA and PTTG-1 in thyroid neoplasm(r=0.36,P0.05).Conclusion The expression of PCNA and PTTG-1 is related to thyroid neoplasm. The high level of PCNA and PTTG-1 may take part in the pathogenesis of thyroid malignant neoplastic disease.
