Abstract

Objective To study the effect of estrogen on liver in trauma-hemorrhage shock.Methods Thirty-six pubertal female rats were randomly divided into 3 groups named as ovariectomy group(n=12),control group(n=12) and estrogen group(n=12).The rats were subjected to TH S for 90 minutes,then reperfusion.Serum ALT,AST and AKP were determined at four hours after resuscitation.Results There was significant difference between control group,estrogen group and ovariectomy group.Overiectomy group had higher levels of ALT,AST and AKP.Conclusion Estrogen can protect liver from injury induced by T-H S.
