Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between CT appearances and pathological grading , and investigate the value of CT appearances in apprasing patho-logical grading in peripheral lung adenocarcinoma. Methods 48 patients with peripheral lung adenocarcinoma proved by surgery and pathology underwent CT scan before treatment. CT appearances and pathological findings were analyzed retrospectively. Results In these peripheral lung adenocarcinomas, there were significant relationships among the pathological grading and diameter of tumor, deep-lobulation, and vessel con-vergence sign (P0.05). However, there were no significant relationships among the pathological grading and pleural retraction and spiculate sign (P0.05). Conclusion Peripheral lung adenocarcinomas with diameter over 3cm, deep-lobulation sign, spiculate protuberance and vessel convergence sign have higher degree of malignancy, whereas the presence of pleural retraction and spiculate sign are less useful to predict biological behavior of the lung cancer.
