Abstract
Objective To observe the curative effect of acupuncture on dysphagia induced by ischemic stroke. Method The hospitalized patients (n=60) were randomly divided into the control group (n=30) and acupuncture group (n=30). The control group was given routine treatment and rehabilitation training, and the acupuncture group was given needling therapy of restoring consciousness, opening orifices, soothing throat and improving deglutition besides routine treatment and rehabilitation training. Result After 15 and 30 days the difference in deglutition between two groups was significant (P0.05). The outcomes of the acupuncture group were better than those of the control group. Conclusion Acupuncture has a good curative effect on dysphagia induced by ischemic stroke.
