The Relationship Between Expressions of Cyclooxygenase 2 and Survivin and Clinical-pathological Behaviors in Human Epithelial Ovarian Carcinoma

Objective To study the the relationship between expressions of cyclooxygenase 2 and Survivin and clinical-pathological behaviors of epithelial ovarian carcinoma.Methods The expressions of COX-2 and Survivin were detected with the Elivision immunohistochemical method in 60 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer,and compared with that in 20 cases of borderline cancer,20 cases of benign tumors and 20 cases of normal tissue.Results The expressions of COX-2 and Survivin increased progressively from normal and benign tumors and borderline carcinoma to epithelial ovarian carcinoma with significant difference(P0.05).Expression of COX-2 was correlated with lymph nodes metastasis(P0.05).Expression of Survivin was correlated with pathological type and lymph nodes metastasis(P0.05).Conclusion The overexpressions of COX-2 and Survivin protein may play an role in pathogenesis of ovarian cancer.Thus elucidation that is not single gene action but polygene synergistic action in epithelial ovarian carcinoma tissues.
