Expressions and clinical significance of survivin and p53 in ovarian epithelial tumor

Objective To study the expressions of survivin and p53 in different ovarian epithelial tumor.Methods The expressions of survivin and p53 proteins were examined in 57 malignant ovarian tumor and 19 benign ovarian tumors by immunohistochemical method.Results The expression of survivin in ovarian epithelial benign tumor could not be detected.The expression ratio in malignant ovarian tumor was 42.1%.There was no relation between survivin expression and FIGO stage,tissue type,and pathological grade(P0.05),but the expression of survivin was related to the malignant ovarian tumor(P0.05).There was close relation between survivin and p53 expressions(P0.01).Conclusion Survivin played an important role in the onset and progression of ovarian epithelial carcinoma.There was a significant relation between survivin and p53 expressions,and may played a role in the vicious change of ovarian epithelial cancer together.
