Abstract
Objective To explore the correlation between body weight index(BWI) and blood pressure, glycemia, blood fat and fatty liver. Methods The related indicators of 6 994 people who took part in physical examinations in a university from March 2011 to November 2011 were collected and analyzed. Results A total of 2 935 people are overweight, accounting for 42.12% of the total number, and 312 people were obesity, accounting for 4.48%.There was a positive correlation between BWI and the levels of blood pressure, glycemia, blood fat and fatty liver(P0.05).Especially the detection rate of fatty liver and BWI was significantly positive(P0.01).Conclusions BWI has certain significance on the risk assessment of metabolic diseases and it could be a main index for assessing general population health.
