Abstract

The paper, by reviewing the development course of teacher education in China, focuses on the inevitability of teacher education replacing normal education, elaborates upon the building of a new-type system of teacher education in the ways of the characteristics of teacher education, the emphasis of teacher pre-service education, the realization by means of life-long education of the integration of pre-service training and in-service training, the improvement of teachers' professional level, etc., and proposes that to intensify the construction of a teacher force and get universities involved in teacher education should be an effective method to cultivate professional teachers of good quality.
