Abstract
Objective To assess the effect of microcolumn gel assay in determination of the level of anti-A/B IgG in pregnants by using microcolumn gel assay so as to prevent the occurrence of neonatal hemolysis. Methods The titer of serum anti-A/B IgG was determined by using microcolumn gel assay. The positives were treated. Results 1 002 out of the total 1 539 pregnant women had a titre of serum anti-A/B IgG of ≤1:64, while the tier in the other 537 cases was 1:128. the titer of the 180 out of the 230 cases treated with Chinese traditional medicine was reduced to 1:64, with a total effective rate of 78%. Conclusion The microcolumn gel assay possesses the advantages of rapid, simple, accurate, sensitive and specific for determination of IgG level in serum of the pregnants in addition to that it needs less samples, less contamination with microorganisms and long period of reservation.
