Abstract

Objective To compare the gel microcolumn assay and the conventional tube test for IgG antiA(B) titration .Methods A total of 364 blood samples of O group pregnant women with non O group husbands were detected simultaneously by the conventional tube test and the gel microcolumn assay. Results The geometric mean of anti-A(B) IgG titers with the gel microcolumn assay was significantly higher than that of conventional one. The differences were significant (t=18.15,t=15.81; P0.001). The positive rate of anti-A(B) IgG titers with the gel microcolumn was significantly higher than that of conventional one (χ2=21.5688,χ2=13.7898; P0.001). The correlation coefficient was 0.8485 and 0.8499,respectively. Conclusion The gel microcolumn assay is more sensitive than classic method, and it is necessary to rebuild reference values of clinical significance.
