Abstract

The effects of solid solution and recrystalization treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 7A04 aluminum alloy by superplastic pre-treatment(SPPT) were investigated by means of optical microscope, mechanical tensile test and EDAX analysis. The results show that the 7A04 aluminum alloy obtains the optimal combination of strength and ductility in such solid solution and recrystallize treatment:470℃ 5 min+480℃ 12 min, the contradiction on dissolution of overageing phases and growth of new grains was settled also by it(470℃ 5 min+480℃ 12 min), and the tensile strength and elongation to failure of the 7A04 aluminum alloy by such treatment is 585 N/mm2 and 17.6% respectively.
