Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of serum fibrosis markers in patients with viral hepatitis. Methods Levels of serum MMP-1, TIMP-1 and TGF-β1 were measured by ELISA method. RIA was used to measure TGF-, HA, PCⅢ, C-Ⅳ and LN. Results The levels of TIMP-1, HA, PCⅢ, C-Ⅳ and LN in the hepatitis patients were higher than the control group (P0.01). The levels of MMP-1 and TGF-β1 in the hepatitis patients were not significantly different from the control group (P 0.05). Conclusion TIMP-1, HA, PCⅢ, C-Ⅳ and LN may be used as markers for detecting liver fibrosis in hepatitis patients.
