Serum resistin levels and the correlated factors in three kinds of prediabetes patients

Objective:To analyze the serum resistin levels and the correlated factors in three kinds of prediabetes patients.Methods:The fasting serum level of the resistin was examined in patients with impaired fasting glucose(IFG),impaired glucose tolerance(IGT),IGT combined with IFG and in people with normal blood glucose(NBG)(ni=50).The results were compared and analyzed.Results:The fasting serum resistin concentration in the IGT,IFG and IGT+IFG groups was significantly higher than that in the NBG group(P0.01),the difference was not significant between the IFG group and the IGT group(P0.05),the serum resistin level was higher in the IGT+IFG group than that in the IFG and the IGT groups(P0.01 and P0.05).The logistic regression analysis showed that the fasting resistin level was strongly correlated with the fasting serum glucose,fasting serum insulin,body mass index and the waist circumference.Conclusions:The fasting serum resistin concentration in the three kinds of prediabetes patients is higher than that in the NBG group.The fasting resistin level is strongly correlated with the fasting serum glucose,fasting serum insulin,body mass index and the waist circumference.
