Serum resistin level and its correlated factors in cases with different glucose tolerance

Abstract

The fasting serum level of resistin was examined by ELISA method in 50 type 2 diabetics (DM group), 50 impaired glucose tolerance patients (IGT group) and 40 normal glucose tolerance subjects (NGT group).The results showed that the fasting serum resistin concentrations were significantly higher in IGT and DM groups than in NGT group.The multiple stepwise regression analysis demonstrated that fasting resistin level was strongly correlated with FBG and FIns.
