Abstract
Objectives To investigate the changes in the hard tissue and the soft tissue profile before and after treatment in Angle Class Ⅱ 1 malocclusion with deep overjet and deep overbite treated by extraction of two maxillary first premolars and one mandibular central incisor. Methods 25 adult patients with Angle Class Ⅱ 1 malocclusion, including 14males and 11 females, aged from 18.3 to 30.5 years old, were treated by extracting two maxillary first premolars and one mandibular central incisor using MBT technique.Pretreatment and posttreatment of cephalograms of individual were traced.Seven landmarks of the hard tissue and five landmarks of the soft tissue profile were selected and analyzed. Results The individual normal occlusion was achieved and the soft tissue profile was improved when the orthodontic treatment completed. Conclusion This orthodontic extraction mode can be used to treat severe Angle Class Ⅱ 1 adults with deep overjet, deep overbite and hypodivergent skeletal pattern.
