Abstract
Objective To assess the effect of non-extraction treatment of Class Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion adolescents. Methods 15 Class Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion adolescents were treated with SWA without extractions. The pretreatment and posttreatment cephalograms were digitized, and several cephalometric variables were examined to evaluate the changes of hard tissue. Results After treatment, the lingually inclined maxillary incisors were corrected, the curve of Spee is leveled, anterior overbite and overjet reached nomal, the value of SNB increased, mandibular anterior teeth were intruded, mandibular posterior teeth extruded, and the length of mandible increased. Conclusions In Class Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion adolescent cases, after the correct of lingually inclined maxillary incisors, mandible will grow forward, which can improve the sagittal relationship of the jaws.
