Abstract
Objectives To observe the effect of valsartan with defferent dose and time on blood pressure diurnal rhythm in patients with non-dipper hypertension. Methods A total of 60 patients with miderate essential hypertension(EH) were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group(n=30) were treated with 80 mg at 7 AM valsartan and 80 mg valsartan at 7 PM;and control group(n=30) were treated with 160 mg valsartan at 7 AM.The changes of 24 h blood pressure and blood pressure diurnal rhythm before treatment and 8 weeks later were compared. Results The 24 h,day and night average systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP) of two groups all significantly decreased after treatment(P0.01).The night average SBP and DBP,day load of blood pressure, night load of blood pressure of treatment group significantly decreased when compared with those of control group(P0.05).Compared with control group, the effectiveness rates of diurnal rhythm of SBP(73.33% vs.46.67%,P0.05)) and DBP(76.67% vs.43.33%,P0.01) of treatment group significantly increased. Conclusions Valsartan can effectively decrease blood pressure and change day and night rhythm in patients with non-dipper hypertension by taken 80 mg twice a day.
