Abstract
Objective: To observe the morphological change of acellular nerve allografts in the sciatic nerve gap of rats. Methods:The morphological change was observed with light microscope and electron microscope,and the results were analyzed statistically.We used ABC immunohistochemical method to measure the expression of S-100 protein in the regenerated nerves. Results:There was no significant difference in number of the regenerated nerve fibers,the thickness of myelin sheath, and the expression of S-100 protein of the regenerated myelinated nerve between the experimental group and control group. Conclusion: The acellular nerve allografts could promote the proliferation of Schwann cells in vivo and have functions in bridging and promoting regeneration of injured peripheral nerve.
