Simultaneous determination of paeoniflorin,geniposide,baicalin and forsythin in Fangfengtongsheng Pills by RP-HPLC

Abstract

Objective To develop an HPLC method for the determination of paeoniflorin,geniposide,baicalin and forsythin in Fangfengtongsheng Pills.Method The analysis was carried out on an Agilent ZORBAX SB-C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile(A) and water(B) with gradient elution at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1.The detection wavelength was set at 230 and 280 nm.The column temperature was 28 ℃.Results The linear ranges of paeoniflorin,geniposide,baicalin and forsythin were 0.078 5-0.785,0.049 6-0.496,0.071 3-0.713 and 0.043 4-0.434 μg(r0.999 1),respectively.The average recoveries(n=3) were 97.5%,98.2%,98.5% and 98.7%,respectively.Conclusion The method is simple,accurate and repeatable,and can be used for the quality control of Fangfengtongsheng Pills.
