Abstract

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between abnormal metabolism of thyroxin and injury of intestinal barrier, and observe the protective effects of exogenous thyroxin for intestinal barrier function in rats.METHODSWistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: sham operation group(SO),severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) group, thyroxin(TH) group.Serum FT3,FT4,TSH levels and serum amylase, plasma endotoxin level in the portal vein and injure of instestinal mucosal grade were examined on 12h.RESULTSCompare with SO group,in SAP group the serum FT3,FT4 levels were decreased, serum amyluse, plasma endotoxin level in portal vein were increased, and injure grade of intestinal mucosal were increased, and have significantly difference.Compare with SO group and TH group showed no significantly difference.CONCLUSIONSupplement of exogenous thyroxin can protect intestinal mucosal barrier in rats with severe acute pancreatitis.
