Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the relationship between intercecullar adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and intestinal mucosa injury and the effects of growth hormone (GH) for intestinal mucosa injury in rats with severe acute pancreatitis.METHODS45 of male Wistar male rats were randomly divided into sham operation group (SO),severe acute pancreatitis group (SAP),and treatment with GH group (SAP+GH). The rats model of severe acute pancreatitis were established by injecting the sodium taurocholate into pancreatic tegument, and the rats in SAP+GH were separately injected with GH in first and twelfth hour, and after 24h,the concentration of endotoxin and amylase in serum was detected in every groups, histological changes of pancreas, intestinal mucous membrane and expression of ICAM-1 were observed.RESULTSThe levels of serum amylase and endotoxin were increased and the expression of ICAM-1 in intestinal tissue increased obviously in SAP group. As compared with SAP group, the levels amylase and endotoxin and expression of ICAM-1 decreased significantly and the lesions of intestinal mucous membrane were alleviated.CONCLUSIONThe expression of ICAM-1 in intestinal mucosa was distinctly increased and the lesions of intestinal mucous membrane were obviously in SAP,but the supplement of exogenous GH could decrease the expression of ICAM-1 and alleviate the inflammatory response of intestinal mucosa.
