Abstract

Objective: To study the expression and clinical significance of P27 and Ki67 in nonsmall cell lung cancer( NSCLC). Methods: The expressions of P27 and Ki67 proteins were detected in 72 cases of primary NSCLC and 20 cases of normal lung tissues by immunohistochemical staining( S-P). The data were statistically analyzed. Results: The positive rate of P27 in NSCLC was 40. 27%,significantly lower than normal lung tissues with 90%( P 0. 05); the positive rate of Ki67 in NSCLC was 70. 83%,significantly higher than normal lung tissues with 5%( P 0. 05). The expressions of P27 and Ki67 were correlated with the histologic differentiation,TNM classification and lymph node metastasis( P 0. 05),but not correlated with sex,age or histological subtype( P 0. 05). The expression of P27 was negatively correlated with the expression of Ki67( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The lower expression of P27 and higher expression of Ki67 may play important roles in oncogenesis and development of NSCLC. Combined detection of P27 and Ki67 protein may be valuable for early diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of NSCLC.
