Expression and Clinical Significance of Skp2 and P27 in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Objective To investigate the expression of S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 and P27 in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and their relationship with clinicpathological characters.Methods The expression of Skp2 and P27 was evaluated by immunohisto-chemical staining(S-P) in 82 cases of primary NSCLC and 20 cases of normal lung tissue in control group,and the clinical data were analyzed.Results The expression rate of Skp2(48.78%) in NSCLC was significantly higher than that in normal lung tissue(10.00%).The expression rate of P27(42.68%) in NSCLC was significantly lower than that in the normal lung tissue(90.00%).In the NSCLC group,the expression of Skp2 and P27 was correlated with the histological differentiation,lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.05).There was no correlation of the Skp2 and P27 expression with sex,age or histological subtype(P0.05).The Skp2 expression was negatively correlated with the P27 expression(P0.01).Conclusion The Skp2 expression may be correlated with the degeneration of P27 in NSCLC,suggesting that the detection of the two proteins of Skp2 and P27 may be an important marker for the early diagnosis of NSCLC and the evaluation of its malignancy degree and prognosis.
