Abstract
Objective:To explore the inhibitory effect of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) on proliferation of glomerulus mesangial cells (GMCs) in rats. Methods:Rat GMCs lines were cultured in vitro, Lipoplysa ccharide (LPS) and TMP with different concentration were added in the culture me dium. There were three experimental groups, GMCs+LPS+TMP,GMCs+LPS, and GMCs named as group TMP,LPS and GMCs, respectively. GMCs proliferative rate was dete rmined by MTT. Results:In TMP group, the GMCs proliferative rate were s ignificantly lower than in LPS group or in GMCs group (P0.01). Conclusion:It suggests that TMP can effectively inhibit the proliferation of GMCs.
