Abstract
The box is the gearbox′s main radiative component of the noise. The dynamic characteristics affect the vibration and noise of the gearbox. Modal analysis of the gearbox contributes to the improvements of the structure. Taking certain type of gearbox as a study object, the paper completed the modal analysis with finite element software and carried on the modal test of the gearbox. Comparing the model analysis results to the test results, verified the finite element model, thus provided the theoric basis to analyze its dynamic characterisitics as well as its improvement.[Ch,8 fig.2 tab.8 ref.]
