Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between insulin resistence and the severity of coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods:238 patients with CHD who undergone coronary angiography were included in this study . According to the angiography results, patients were divided into CHD group (n=153) and control group (n=85). The severity of coronary artery lesions and levels of plasma lipids, plasma glucose, insulin and body mass index(BMS) were measured. Results: Compared to the control group,IR,TC,TG,and LDL levels in CHD group increased significantly. There were correlationship between insulin resistance index(IRI) and the classification of coronary artery lesions,P0.001.Conclusion:Higher IRI has positive relation with the severity of coronary artery lesions. Improving insulin sensitivity would decrease cardiovascular risk in high risk population.
