Thoughts of cultivating innovation ability of engineering college students

It's a historical mission for higher education to cultivate high-quality innovative talents. It's necessary and urgent to train innovation ability of college students especially for engineering university.Universities should take scientific outlook on development as the guide,pay attention to personnel training,improve innovation quality,cultivation of practical ability and other aspects for establishment of training system of university innovative talents with high qualities,the cultivation of innovative talents. Taking lighting major of Dalian polytechnic university as an example,the paper discussed the difficult of innovation education,proposed corresponding solution. The paper provided some references for the innovation education to other engineering colleges.
