Abstract

AIM:To explore the expression in esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC)and approach relationship between the TPX2 and clinicopathological characteristic of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.METHODS:The expression of TPX2 in 62 specimens of ESCC,paracancer esophageal,epithelia and distant normal esophageal epithelia was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The correlations of TPX2 expression to clinicopathologic features of the 62 ESCC patients were analyzed.RESULTS:The positive rate of TPX2 was significantly higher in ESCC than in paracancer esophageal epithelia(65.5% vs 35.5%);The expression of TPX2 was correlated with the histological grade,infiltrative depth and lymphatic metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.There was a significant statistic difference among the groups(P0.01).The expression of TPX2 had no correlations to grade,sex,and age.CONCLUSION:The expression of TPX2 might be related to the infiltrative depth and lymphatic metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
