Abstract
Objective The purpose of this paper is to detect the expression of FHIT and Apollon in colonic adenoma and primary colonic carcinoma, and to explore the role and clinical significance of FHIT and Apollon in the process of occurrence and development of colonic adenoma and colon cancer. Methods The reverse transcriptase real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR technique was utilized to detected the mRNA of FHIT and Apollon in a colonic adenoma group of 60 cases(tubular adenoma 48 cases and villous adenoma 12 cases),a colonic carcinoma group of 30 cases, and a normal control group of 30 cases. Results The relative expression of FHIT mRNA gradually weakened in the normal control group, the colonic adenoma group, and the colonic carcinoma group. The villous adenoma group was lower than the tubular adenoma group, with a statistically significant difference(P 0.05); The relative expression of Apollon mRNA gradually increased in the normal control group, the colonic adenoma group, and the colonic carcinoma group. The villous adenoma group was higher than tubular adenoma, with a statistically significant difference(P 0.05).The expression of FHIT and Apollon mRNA was negative correlated in colon carcinoma and colonic adenoma(P 0.05).Conclusions FHIT and Apollon played a certain role in the process of occurrence and development of colonic adenoma and colon cancer, both of which participate in the process of colon mucosal canceration. The detection of FHIT and Apollon will be helpful in early diagnosis of colon cancer.
