Abstract
Gastric carcinoma is one of the most frequent malignant tumors in Southeast Asia, and it was reported to have the highest mortality rate.PTEN gene is a tumor suppressor with double specific phosphatase activity, and its mutations or deletions are associated with the occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis of kinds of primary malignant tumors.Tumor suppressor genes play important roles in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma. The low expression of PTEN in gastric carcinoma tissues has been confirmed by a large number of experiments, which could be an effective indicator to guide the comprehensive treatment and determine prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
