Abstract

The gene mutation,deletion,methylation of tumor suppressor gene PTEN generally occurs in several types of tumors. While loss of heterozygosity(LOH) at the PTEN locus frequently occurs in Gastric tumor,the mutations of PTEN were not commonly found,but its expression was generally lower. The abnormality of PTEN may correlate with the development and progression of the Gastric tumor,Having a better understanding of the function of PTEN will provide new train of thought for the diagnosis and treatment of Gastric tumor.
