Abstract
Gastric carcinoma is one of the most frequent malignant tumors in China,and it was reported to have the highest mortality rate.P53 is one of the most extensive tumor suppressor genes that have been studied,and its mutations or deletions are associated with the occurrence,development,invasion and metastasis of some kinds of human malignant neoplasms.Tumor suppressor gene p53 plays important roles in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma.The mutation of p53 gene and overexpression of p53 protein in gastric carcinoma tissues has been confirmed by a large number of experiments,which could be an effective indicator to guide the comprehensive treatment and to determine prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
