Abstract
The affecting factors and mechanism of photocatalytic degradation of malachite green by TiO2 assisted with tartaric acid were investigated. The results demonstrated that tartaric acid could markedly enhance photocatalytic degradation of malachite green by TiO2.Under the same conditions, the order of the removal efficiency of malachite green in three light sources was ultraviolet light, mimic solar light, visible light. The degradation of malachite green obeyed the first-order kinetics. The intermediate material(·OH)was indirectly measured by HPLC using phenol as a probe and beneze as a scavenger for ·OH.
