Abstract
The treatment of water containing malachite green using Mg-doped TiO2 photocatalyst prepared by a sol-gel method was introduced. The effect of initial concentration of MG,catalyst amount on degradation were studied. The results indicated that Mg-doping remarkably improved the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 for malachite green degradation. The degradation rate of malachite green solution(30 mg/L) reached 84% over Mg-doped TiO2(1.0 g/L) in 120 min under the irradiation of ultraviolet light, and the catalytic reaction mechanism was forecasted.
