Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the efficiency of the Getinge washer-disinfector for centralized bed unit and compare the efficiency of three kinds of disinfection methods so as to significantly decrease the number of bacteria and achieve satisfactory disinfection effects.METHODS The Getinge9100 disinfector was used to clean and disinfect the bed body, and the Getinge111226 pressure steam sterilizer was used to disinfect the mattress, the quilt, and the pillow.Samples from bed unit before and after cleaning and disinfecting were collected, then the quantitative and qualitative detections of bacteria were performed. And three procedures of disinfection(ultrashort, fast, normal)were designed and carried out in three stages. Finally, the statistical analysis of the efficiency of clean and disinfection were performed.RESULTS Before disinfection, the over-limit rate of bacteria in bed unit including the bed body, mattresses, bedding, and pillow core was 16.7%-75.7%,and the over-limit rate was 3.3%after disinfection. Before disinfection, totally 52 strains including Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas were detected from 97 bed bodies,51 strains from mattresses,40 strains from bedding,39 strains from pillow core. After disinfection,E.coli and K.pneumoniae were not detected from the bed body, mattresses, bedding, and pillow core. And there was no significant difference among the three methods of disinfection.CONCLUSION After disinfection of the centralized bed unit by the Getinge washer-disinfector,the number of bacteria was decreased significantly, and the efficiency of killing high virulent bacteria were obvious.Three procedures of disinfection are all appropriate, and the ultrashort procedure could also achieve satisfactory results.
