Effect of centralized cleaning and disinfection of bed units

OBJECTIVE To explore the bacterial contamination of bed units and the effect of centralized cleaning and disinfection.METHODS A total of 56used bed units were randomly selected as the study objects,then the bedclothes were sterilized by using the pressure-stream disinfector,the bedstocks were cleaned and disinfected with the use of the washer-disinfector,and the bacteriological monitoring of the bed units was performed before and after the cleaning and disinfection.RESULTS The bed units were seriously contaminated wit the contamination rate of 100.00%.The bacterial colony counts on the pillow core were(79.618±50.370)CFU/cm2 before the disinfection,(0.010±0.014)CFU/cm2 after the disinfection;the bacterial colony counts on the quilts were(30.291±15.021)CFU/cm2 before the disinfection,(0.012±0.013)CFU/cm2 after the disinfection;the bacterial colony counts on the bedstocks were(30.218±13.788)CFU/cm2 before the disinfection,(0.005±0.006)CFU/ cm2 after the disinfection,with statistical significance(P0.05).CONCLUSION The centralized cleaning and disinfection can achieve reliable effect on killing the pathogens,improve the medical nursing quality,and prevent nosocomial infections.
