Abstract
Octylacetate is synthesized from acetic acid and n octyl alcohol using tungstosilicic acid as catalyst. The influence factors such as molar ratio of acetic acid to n_octyl alcohol, amount of catalyst, and reaction time on the yield of octylacetate are discussed. The results indicate that tungstosilicic acid is a good catalyst for synthesizing octylacetate and its yield can reach over 99.3%
