Abstract
Butyl cinnamate was synthesized from cinnamic acid and butyl alcohol using tungstosilicic acid as catalyst. The results showed that tungstosilicic acid was a good catalyst for synthesizing butyl cinnamate. The yield of butyl cinnamate was up to 96% when molar ratio of cinnamic acid to butyl alcohol was 1:2.0, amount of catalyst was 1.0 g/0.05 mol cinnamic acid , water-carrying agent was 8 mL ,and reaction time was 110 min.
