Abstract
A new environmentally friendly catalyst, the polyaniline doped with tungstosilicic acid was prepared in the refluxing conditions designed according to orthogonal test method.2-Iso-propyl-1,3-dioxolane was synthesized from iso-butyraldehyde and glycol in the presence of polyaniline doped with tungstosilicic acid. The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and the best conditions were found out.The optimum conditions are as follows:the mole ratio of glycol to iso-butyraldehyde(r) is 1.5∶1,the catalyst dosage is equal to 1.2% of feedstock, and the reaction time is 1.0 h.The polyaniline doped with tungstosilicic acid is an excellent catalyst for synthesizing 2-iso-propyl-1,3-dioxolane and its yield can reach over 88.8%.
