Abstract

Kang-Fu-Ning Disinfectant is a liquid preparation composed of resorcin, the main germicidal ingredient, and glycerin, carrier quantitative germicidal test was used to observe its germicidal efficacy. Results: The disinfectant containing resorcin 800 mg/L and 400 mg/L with a 10 min contact time killed over 99.9% of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli on carriers. The disinfectant containing resorcin 8000 mg/L with a 3 min contact time killed over 99.9% of Candida albicans. 50% calf serum in the bacterial suspension essentially did not influence the germicidal efficacy of resorcin. The efficacy of stock solution of the disinfectant in killing Candida albicans did not change after storing at 54℃ for 14 days. Conclusion: Kang-Fu-Ning Disinfectant has good efficacy in killing vegetative forms of bacteria and fungi. It is stable and is little influenced by organic substance.
