The Relationship between Achievement Motivation and Academic Self-efficacy of Different Levels of Nursing Students

Objectives To investigate the relationship between achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy of different levels of nursing students by means of mclelland's achievement motivation theory and the principle of self-efficacy. Methods We conducted a survey on 750 nursing students of different levels by means of achievement motivation scale and academic self-efficacy questionnaire. Results There were significantly difference in the achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy among nursing undergraduate students,college students,secondary school students(P0.05),pursuing success motivation and synthesis motivation were positively correlated with two factors of self-efficacy,avoiding fail motivation was negatively correlated with two factors of self-motivation. Conclusions There is close correlation between achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy of different levels of nursing students.Nursing educators and psychologists should set up sound aim modified educational method,construct good environmental atmosphere.In the process of teaching,the teacher should constantly encourage student,strength ability of resistance to frustration and willpower development,improve the level of self-efficacy and achievement motivation.
