The relationship on achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy of nursing undergraduate students

Abstract

Objective:To investigate relationship on the achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy of nursing undergraduate students by use of mclelland′s achievement motivation theory and the principle of self-efficacy.Methods:A survey on 202 nursing undergraduate students were conducted by achievement motivation scale and academic self-efficacy questionnaire.Results:There was no great difference(P0.05) on achievement motivation and the study behavior self-efficacy of nursing undergraduate students in different grades.The factor of pursuing the successful motive and synthesis motive is related with the factor of self-efficacy.However,the factor of avoiding being defeated the motive becomes the inverse correlation with the factor of self-efficacy.Conclusion:There are close correlation between achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy of nursing undergraduate students.
