The relationship between self-efficacy and achievement motivation of graduate students

In the light of the theory of self-efficacy and the achievement motivation theory,the author does a research into the relationship between the self-efficacy and the achievement motivation of graduate students.Methods:201 graduate students participated the study.Self-efficacy Questionnaire and Achievement Motive Scale were applied to the graduate students.Results:①There was no significant gender and major difference of self-efficacy(p0.05).②There was no significant gender and major difference of achievement motivation(p0.05).③The two factors of the self-efficacy are positively related to the achievement-pursuing motivation and the synthetic motivation;and negatively related to the failure-avoiding motivation.Conclusion: self-efficacy correlates with achievement motivation closely.
