Abstract

Objective To explore the diagnostic values of usceptibility weighted imaging(SWI)on hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).MethodsSiemens Avanto 1.5T superconducting MR scanner was used on 60 HIE cases to conduct the examination, and 10% chloral hydrate was taken orally or enema(0.3~0.5 ml/ kg) 30mintes before tests,in order to complete the inspection during sleep.Routine axial T1WI,T2WI and DWI scan were conducted and axial SWI scan was added.Lesions detection rate of conventional head MRI sequences and SWI sequence, location and nature were observed.ResultsCerebral microbleeds lesions detected by SWI was the most in number, comparing on detection rate,SWI were significantly higher than those of T1WI,T2WI and DWI(P0.01).SWI were significantly superior to T1WI,T2WI and DWI in the lesion size, scope and boundary definition.ConclusionsSWI sequence is better than conventional sequence on displaying the number and scope of small hemorrhage in HIE,and it has obvious advantages on assessing the level and prognosis of HIE.
