Combined use of transurethral electrovaporization ablation and transurethral prostatectomy for BPH(report of 46 cases)

Objective:To study the effective of the combined use of transurethral electrovaporization ablation and transurethral prostatectomy for BPH. Methods:Combined transurethral electrovaporization ablation and transurethral resection of the prostate was undertaken for 46 cases.Results:All patients were operated on smoothly.The endoscopic view was clear and with little bleeding. The mean postoperative catheterization maintained for 3～5 days. The result was satisfied and no complication was found with normal micturition in 1～24 months for follow-up. Conclusions:Combined transurethral electrovaporization ablation and transurethral resection of the prostate is the treatment of choice for patients with BPH. This operation style is safe, easy to master, having low occurrence of complications, and having excellent outcomes.
