A Review of Metaphor Researches in Foreign Language Education

With the development of cognitive applied linguistics,more and more researchers strongly think that we should apply the current cognitive linguistics academic achievements into foreign language education.However,metaphor has not been given necessary attention in foreign language education. This paper,from the perspectives of metaphor learning in classroom,metaphorical competence and metaphor research methods,attempts to present an general review of current metaphor researches,in order to provide research references for the teachers and researchers,and promote the metaphor research in foreign language education.
