Abstract

Objective To investigate the epidemiology of group A rotavirus(RV)infection in infants in Lishui city. Methods The stool samples of children with diarrhea were collected from 2008 to 2010 and the rotavirus were determined by immune colloidal gold reagent, and the results were statistically analyged. Results A total of 8102 cases of diarrhea were detected, respectively, there were 2339 RV positive cases, the positive rate was 28.86%;RV was a major infection pathogen in infants which are less than 24 months and it accounted for 96.6%;July to December was the peak incidence period, while the highest infection rate was in November,it was 47.6%.Conclusion Rotavirus is the major pathogen of diarrhea among infants in Lishui city and should be emphasized in high infection season.
