Comparative Study on Treatment of Obstructive Disease of Lacrimal Passage by Lacrimal Plastic Operation with Nd:YAG Laser

Objective To study the therapeutic effects of Nd:YAG laser on obstructive diseases of the lacrimal passage.Methods Nine hundred and ten eyes in 822 cases with obstructive diseases of lacrimal passage,including obstruction of lacrimal punncta(21 eyes),lacrimal duct(122 eyes),and nasolacrimal duct(402 eyes),chronic dacryocystitis(228 eyes),were treated by lacrimal plastic operation with Nd:YAG laser and the therapeutic effects were compared among the groups.Results The cure rates of the four diseases were 75%,79.4%,82.3%,70.1%,effective rates were 87.5%,89.7%,90.2%,75% respectively.By Ridit analysis,the therapeutic effects on obstruction of nasolacrimal duct is less than those of obstruction of lacrimal punncta,lacrimal duct,chronic dacryocystitis(P0.05).The therapeutic effects of lacrimal plastic operation with laser on obstruction of nasolacrimal duct and chronic dacryocystitis were significantly different(P0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effects of lacrimal plastic operation with laser on obstruction of chronic dacryocystitis is the best,others are in turn on obstruction of lacrimal puncta,lachrymal duct,nasolacrimal duct,it must be choosen the convenient patients strictly on chronic dacryocystitis.
